Shipping Guide
From checkout to your doorstep, here is what to expect when you order.
How shipping works
We ship across the United States
Every seller on Modest Kouture ships to US addresses. Add your address at checkout and we take it from there.
You see the shipping cost before you pay
Shipping is worked out at checkout for your address and shown as one line per seller. The quote comes from the packed weight and box size each seller lists, added up for everything you buy from that seller. The price you see is the price you pay. When an order qualifies for free shipping, it is applied for you.
One order, maybe several packages
Modest Kouture is a marketplace. Each seller packs and ships their own items, so if your cart holds items from more than one seller you may receive more than one package, each with its own tracking number.
Sellers ship within 7 days
Every seller is expected to ship within 7 days of your order. Your orders page shows the ship-by date for each order, and you get an email with tracking the moment it ships.
If it runs late, you can cancel
Once the ship-by date passes and the order still has not shipped, a Cancel order button appears on that order. Canceling refunds the full amount to your original payment method.
Tell us when it arrives
Follow the tracking link from your orders page. When the package is in your hands, tap "I received this". If you forget, the carrier's delivery scan or 10 days after shipping marks it delivered. Delivery starts your 3-day return window, so confirming promptly works in your favor.
If it never arrives
If a package is still missing 7 days after it shipped, report it as not received from your orders page. No photo is needed and nothing is sent back. The seller answers the report, and you can escalate their decision to Modest Kouture.
If something is wrong with the item
Damaged, wrong, defective or not as described? Request a return within 3 days of delivery. The Return Policy explains what qualifies and how it works.
Read the Return PolicyFor sellers: how weight and package size work
The weight and box size on your listing are what the carrier quotes from at checkout and what you are charged when you buy the label. Here is how they are used.
Weigh it packed
Enter the weight of the item as it ships: garment, tags, tissue and the mailer or box, in pounds and ounces. A listing cannot be published without a weight. Weigh the packed item on a kitchen or postal scale rather than guessing from the garment alone.
Everything from your store ships in one box
When a buyer orders several of your items, their weights are added together (times the quantity) to make one package. The box footprint is the widest item and the heights stack. That one package is what the carrier quotes and what you ship.
Box size is optional
Enter all three sides or leave them blank. A blank size counts as a 12 × 9 × 3 in mailer per item, which is right for most clothing. A package over 70 lb or over 108 in on a side cannot be quoted, so that checkout is blocked rather than priced on a guess.
The buyer's price is final; yours is the real one
The buyer pays the rate quoted from the weight and size you listed. When you buy the label, the carrier charges for the real package, and that cost comes off your payout. If your listed weight was too low, you absorb the difference. If it was too high, you keep the difference. An accurate packed weight protects you.
Where to enter it
Every listing has a Shipping package card with the weight and the optional box size. Update it whenever you change the packaging.
